Secret Service quickly surrounded Donald Trump, who fiercely pumped his fist towards the crowd, who were both shocked and panicked after sound of gunshots interrupted the former president’s rally in Pennsylvania on July 13. Of course, not only he survived the attempted assassination, but an iconic photo miraculously snapped as Trump courageously stood, fist raised, in front of an American flag.

 

Conveniently, photographs also showed how blood was running from Trump’s ear to his cheek – after he clutched his right ear before squatting to the ground. The powerful image makes him appear elevated like Martin Luther King – a central figure – surrounded by security agents trying to shield his body. The agents formed a triangular composition that places Trump in the centre.

 

An agent, wearing dark glasses, calmly looks directly at the photographer’s camera, where an American flag in the sky produced a strong colour element. Set against a blue sky, everything else in the image is red, white and navy blue. The blood on Trump’s face seems to attract viewers to the red stripes of the American flag, which in turn aligns with the Republican red – as if everything has been orchestrated.

Photographers call it “a photographic way of seeing” – meaning getting the “right shot” with the correct combination of composition, light, timing, colour and subject. In the chaos, the visual representation projects Trump like Captain America fighting for the country despite being shot. This photograph alone triggers conspiracy theories that the assassination had been staged from the beginning.

 

Trump haters say there was no blood on his face until he raised his hand to his cheek, so he probably used a squib to unleash fake blood. The theory was that the CIA, the same notorious spy agency allegedly behind the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, was involved in the attack in Butler, Pennsylvania. The goal was to paint Donald Trump as a martyr, and win the election.

 

Suspiciously, the Secret Service allowed Trump to stand and pose as he was escorted offstage, when he should have been rushed away with utmost urgency under full cover by dozens of agents. What if there was a second shooter ready to finish the job? Either the Secret Service had plunged to a deplorable stage, or Trump knew what he had to do, and did it according to the script.

After all, Donald Trump was the co-producer of TV series “The Apprentice”, hosting the reality television show for a whopping fourteen seasons. Therefore, he knew exactly how to stage his own assassination to milk the maximum sympathy from the voters. This would include positioning photographers at the right spot to produce the right image at the right moment.

 

Regardless whether the shooting drama had been staged or not, the left-wing and right-wing has their own conspiracy theories, even though one rally attendee had been killed and two more were injured but are in stable condition. Hey, someone has to die or become collateral damage to make the assassination attempt looks more realistic and believable, no?

 

The shooter has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He was a member of a local gun club and worked as a dietary aide at a nursing facility. The dead was 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, a former chief of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, whilst the injured were David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74.

Although gunman Crooks was shot and killed by the Secret Service, questions have been raised as to how he was able to crawl onto the closest roof to a presidential nominee, not to mention the FBI has yet to identify a motive. And how do we know that he was the one who shot – and missed – the target. Could there be a second “professional sniper”, who was hired to deliberately miss the shot?

 

It has been 43 years since the last assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan, who was shot in the lung but survived. Today, people want to know how an assassin – armed with his AR-15 rifle – was able to get onto a rooftop and fired as many as eight bullets, when that area was supposed to have been cleared. Those who attended the rally must pass through metal detectors to ensure they were not bringing any weapons.

 

Worse, witnesses had seen the gunman crawling around, and yelled to alert police – nearly a minute and a half before shots were fired – but the police, who were in the warehouse just beneath the gunman, refused to act. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle admitted – “There was local police in that building. There was the local police in the area that were responsible for the outer perimeter of the building.”

But that was not the best part. In a briefing, Sen. John Barrasso said Matthew Crooks – who had a range finder and a backpack with him – was reported as a suspicious person one hour before he began shooting. If that was not bad enough, about 30 minutes after the initial suspicious person report, Pennsylvania State Police notified the Secret Service of the suspicious person. Snipers also spotted him 20 minutes before the shooting. Yet, the gunman was not apprehended.

 

Trump must be incredibly lucky that the bullet grazed his right ear, which he described as a whizzing sound and was saved by turning his head at the “exact right time and in just the right amount”. This has led to gunman Crooks being mocked for failure to hit a sitting duck at 150 metres – well within the 400-500 metre effective range of the AR-15 rifle, known for its accuracy.

 

Curiously, if the assassin had planned to kill Trump, he should have targeted the former president’s body rather than the head for a higher success rate as the body presents a bigger target. But he didn’t, and despite spraying 8 bullets, Trump is not only still alive and kicking, but managed to be photographed in a pose that could win him the Oval Office again.

In the same breath, right-wing conspiracy theories are pointing fingers at the Democrats Party, especially President Joe Biden. The Secret Service’s incompetence might have been working hand-in-glove with the gunman to assassinate Trump. It’s hard to believe that the assassin knew exactly which roof to use to carry his mission without being interrupted.

 

Trump’s pick for Vice President – J.D. Vance – has accused the Biden administration of being responsible (either directly or indirectly) for the assassination attempt. Several lawmakers, including Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and Congressman Mike Collins shared the same sentiment that the president was involved. Billionaire Elon Musk said it shows either extreme incompetence or was deliberate.

 

Indeed, it’s not hard to see why Joe Biden could be involved. On July 8, Biden said – “I have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to be able to do that. So, we’re done talking about the debate. It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye“. After criticized, the POTUS said his “bullseye” remark was a mistake, but it could  have “led directly” to the attempted assassination.

In fact, this is not the first time Biden blows up enemies he can’t defeat. On Feb 7, 2022, the U.S. president promised to prevent Nord Stream 2 from becoming operational if Russia invaded Ukraine. The Commander-in-Chief said – “If Russia invades, then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it”. The Russian Nord Stream pipelines were subsequently blown up after Putin invaded Ukraine.

 

A reporter asked Biden – “But how will you do that, exactly, since the project is in Germany’s control?” Biden confidently answered – “I promise you, we will be able to do that.” Interestingly, a day after the sabotage, Germany magazine Der Spiegel has reported that the CIA warned Germany weeks earlier of a coming attack on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 natural gas pipelines.

 

After the Nord Stream gas pipeline was blown up on Sept 26, 2022, questions have been raised over who did it. It was a pre-planned terrorist attack to permanently destroy any hope of Europe going back for Russian gas. The culprit that blew up the Nord Stream pipeline would benefit the most from the sabotage. There’s only one country that fit the bill – United States.

If Biden administration could blow up foreign assets as critical as Nord Stream pipelines, chances are an order – either directly or indirectly – could be issued to neutralize Donald Trump, who is the greatest threat to both Biden and the Democrats, from returning to the White House. The damage was done when Biden finally condemned the assassination attempt.

 

Therefore, Trump supporters believed the Secret Service intentionally failed to protect the former president – on the White House’s orders. This explains why the authorities were dragging their feet despite a one-hour warning of the suspicious person report. And when the assassin failed to kill Trump, he was neutralized because dead men tell no tales, as can be seen in many Hollywood movies.

 

It didn’t help when the Democrats try to end Trump’s Secret Service protection after he became the first president convicted of felony counts for falsifying business records. Biden’s campaign, which trumpets President Donald Trump as an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs, has done nothing but inspire and instigate people like Thomas Matthew Crooks to take matters into own hands.

Still, the biggest winner appears to be Mr Trump. His social media stock price – Truth Social – jumped nearly 50% to over US$46 per share. The DJT shares had previously closed at US$30.88 per share on Friday, July 12, one day before the assassination attempt. The failed attempt to kill him is boosting his re-election odds. Adding fuel to the fire, Russian state media have jumped into the bandwagon, blaming the Democrats.
